Crocheted baskets, thoughtful gifts for Mom💝

Greetings and blessings, my dear crafting friends. I hope you’re all doing well and staying healthy, and that this week is filled with productivity and creativity.

For this Monday with needles, I’m here to tell you that I’m already at that time of year when I start thinking with great excitement about gifts for moms. Mother’s Day is approaching, and I like to get a head start and imagine gifts that convey love in every stitch. That’s why, these past few days, I’ve been knitting with lots of love some little baskets or jar covers for the gifts I’ll have for sale.

I’m crocheting these covers using a combination of double crochet and slip stitches on the front, because they create a very special texture. They feel firm to the touch, yet delicate at the same time, and visually they have a charm that makes them unique. Each piece takes shape little by little, and in that process I also find a space of calm and connection with myself.

Para este lunes de agujas vengo a contarles que ya estoy en ese momento del año en el que empiezo a pensar con mucha ilusión en los detalles para las mamás. Ya se acerca la celebración de las madres y me gusta anticiparme e imaginar obsequios que transmitan cariño en cada puntada. Por eso, estos días he estado tejiendo con mucho amor unas cestitas o fundas para frascos para los regalos que tendré a la venta.

Estas fundas las estoy tejiendo con una combinación de puntos altos y puntos relieve por delante, porque crean una textura muy especial. Al tacto se sienten firmes, pero al mismo tiempo delicadas, y visualmente tienen un encanto que las hace únicas. Cada pieza va tomando forma poco a poco, y en ese proceso encuentro también un espacio de calma y conexión conmigo misma.

For the colors, I went with a classic choice: 100% acrylic yarn in white and pink. There’s something very sweet and soft about this combination, which makes each little basket look beautiful and cozy. I like to think that these shades convey that sense of care and love that moms embody so well. As a finishing touch, I added a pink fabric ribbon that gives them a special, tender touch.

As I knit, I imagine the jars filled with little gifts, sweets, messages, or whatever each person wants to give. I’m not sure yet how I’ll present them, but I know they’ll be gifts made with lots of love to honor the purest and most unconditional love in life.

Para los colores, me fui por lo clásico: hilo 100% acrílico en blanco y rosa. Esta combinación tiene algo muy dulce y suave, que hace que cada cestita luzca hermosa y acogedora. Me gusta pensar que estos tonos aportan esa sensación de cuidado y amor que tanto representa a las mamás. Como complemento les puse una cinta de tela de color rosado que le da un toque tierno especial.

Mientras voy tejiendo me imagino los frascos llenos de pequeños detalles, dulces, mensajes o lo que cada persona quiera regalar. Todavía no tengo claro cómo los voy a presentar, pero sé que serán unos detalles hechos con mucho cariño para agasajar al amor más puro e incondicional de la vida.
