And the stories of those who claim to have had encounters with aliens have captured the public imagination for years, making this place in the western United States a favorite tourist destination for lovers of the unknown.
In order to attract more visitors to the area, in 1996 the authorities decided to name State Route 375 – which runs from north to south through unpopulated Lincoln County – as "The Highway of Aliens."
