Friday, “yay”. The morning started nicely by the sight of my breakfast, lunch, and perhaps my supper. A big pot of tofu with an assortment of mushrooms, fungus, glutinous balls, and small cuts of various vegetables. I knew this is going to be a good day.
You are probably wondering, Glutinous Balls? Think of a ball of hollow, crispy piece of bread without much of dough. Hard to really describe, but they are versatile. For this dish, they were cooked as is, but you can use them to stuff with anything you like to put inside and cook them. At first I did not liked them because I did not liked soggy foods, but I got used to them to the point it no longer bothers me.
Think the only thing that has been challenging me is the temptation to have even the simplest things that vegans can not have. Milk and other forms of dairy come to mind. Heck, I can not even have a simple cheese pizza just because of the first word of the food: cheese. I miss it. Lot of sweet snacks contains milk, and some I want to try but can not, “Sigh.” It is only a few more days, then I can have them.
It does not help that my wife has no restrictions. We both went to shopping, and she wanted some frozen yogurt. It looked good, but it was beyond my reach even though it was only inches away. All I could do is stare at her eating spoon scoop after spoon scoop. 👹
Again, only a few more days left.
