Hello Steemitans! How are you today? After a long time, I was walking through the old part of Belgrade. The good weather and the sun made the walk more enjoyable. I am writing this post to share with you a small part of the atmosphere through photos taken during the walk. Photography is one of my favorite hobbies. Thanks for following! Check out my post about Park Kalemegdan and share your thoughts! ✌️😊
And let's get started! One of the biggest symbols of the city of Belgrade is the monument "Pobednik". When we translate the Serbian word pobednik we get the meaning winner. The monument was built in 1928, marking 10 years since the breakthrough of the famous Thessaloniki Front. The monument has been under reconstruction for the past few months, so the works are still ongoing.
A closer look at the monument itself.
Leopold's Gate is located in the eastern part of Kalemegdan, built between 1680. and 1690, during the Austrian rule of Belgrade. Let's go for a walk.
Going through the Gate. 🚶♂️
The walls are hundreds of years old.
I often came here when I was younger. I remember the days when I came here with my father on a bicycle. Each time it was a challenge for me, and the view from here was a reward. Belgrade in the palm of your hand.
Love will always Win!
I hope you enjoyed reading. Tommorow I'm coming with second part so STAY TUNED!
