Lately I've been able to play a bit more Pokémon GO again. So I defeated more Team GO Rocket Grunts to get another Radar. With Cliff already defeated and then defeating Arlo last week I was just missing Sierra now to get the Super Radar to look for Giovanni again. After I got a new Radar I couldn't find Sierra yet, it was just Cliff or Arlo. Then the other day when we took over the Gyms that we take over, I knew there was a Rocket hideout not too far away. About a 5 minutes walk. So I walked there and Sierra was at this hideout!
The fight against Sierra was quite a race against the battery time though. My powerbank became empty on the way there and my phone still at 50-60% shut off as it tends to do that randomly when running Pokémon GO and having hotspot on. When I restarted it the phone was suddenly below 15%, not sure why. On top of that some eggs hatched when I restarted the game. So I had to battle Sierra pretty fast. The fight against her did go well my Lucario took out her Absol and a bunch of her Cacturne's health. Then my Tyranitar took out the rest of its health and defeated her Houndoom.
After the fight my phone was really low in battery, so I caught the Shadow Absol and just closed the game and walked home. I didn't play until the next day, but yesterday when I was outside playing a bit already before taking over the Gym I turned in the quest to go to the next step where you get the Super Radar and have to find and defeat Giovanni. Once I had the radar I opened it, and I saw a Giovanni hideout on the Pokéstop behind me. Of course there is a high chance it is a Decoy Grunt, but I was surprised when it was actually Giovanni! The first one I try and immediately finding Giovanni was really sweet!
I knew he would start out with Persian and have Moltres as his 3rd Pokémon, there would just be 3 different possibilities for his 2nd Pokémon. So I took my Lucario with me for Persian and damaging his 2nd Pokémon and I also took Tyranitar with me against Moltres. Being uncertain what his 2nd Pokémon would be I decided to just take Metagross with me.
Lucario took out Persian and the shields. Then for his 2nd Pokémon he sent out Cloyster. My Lucario was able to defeat the Cloyster as well and deal a bit of damage to the Moltres. Then I sent out Tyranitar and did good damage with Smack Down, then finishing Moltres with my Tyranitar's Charged Attack.
Catching the Shadow Moltres went really well. It's stats are really bad though. It's like an opposite 007 agent, as its stats are 7/0/0.
Now that I have the quest completed I was able to get this month's Team GO Rocket Invasion quest line. Turns out for this one we need to purify less Shadow Pokémon, only 5 instead of 15. I can already make progress with this month's quest to use it for trying to find and defeat Giovanni next month. I do wonder what next month's Shadow Legendary is going to be. It'll either be Articuno again if they decided to rotate them again or it might continue to the next Legendary in the list. Either Mewtwo since its next in the Pokédex, although they might not do that. In which case they might go for gen 2's legendary trio, then we'd most likely be getting Shadow Raikou. We shall find out next month!
Who do you think we'll see as the Shadow Legendary in February?
