Games people play:
Is it possible to make money/earn hive with games? Based on some of the posts I've been reading it seems to be a thing.
Does that mean I can do it, or just anyone? I suppose it is possible. Currently, I am playing three or four games on the blockchain. These are casual/idle type games. If you are not familiar, you click to perform an action and then wait. The amount of time depends on the task. It can be a long, slow slog to get through them.
I have no real issues with the ones that are an hour or less. Gives me time to go do other stuff while it bubbles away in the background. There are exceptions of course. One takes up to 6 hours. Who has time for that? Of course, you can "pay" to speed things along. That's great if you have the in-game resources. If you're just starting out, it sucks. I get it, most people don't make games for altruistic reasons alone or simply because they're a great guy or gal. I am not opposed to pay to win sites. You do you.
The first game I will talk about it Rising Star.
From their home page:
Start as a lowly busker and work your way up to a global megastar!
Earn StarBits by completing tasks and trade or use them to purchase cards in-game to progress your music career.
You can pull in different tokens from Hive Engine or withdraw the Star bits to HE. You must have a minimum of 1k before withdrawing. Depending on how much you play, it shouldn't take all that long. Once you withdraw them, you can keep them in your token wallet and use them for in-game purchases or exchange them for Hive.
This is your mission screen. This is where the magic happens. Different missions require different things. The number of fans, level of energy, etc. The first star you play is a busker. You have to start with illegal busking. Can you sing before the cops run you off?
From here, you will gain star bits and experience. The higher you go, the more things will open up for you.
Fans:
These are another boost. When you perform, you have a chance to pick up more fans. They can either be drunk fans who are temporary. "17:52 Some of your drunk fans woke up and have forgotten everything about you!"
Really? I thought we connected as I belted out Manilow Tunes? Sniff... fickle bishes.
Many other boosters can be found as you play, like coffee and leftover pizza etc. You can upgrade to better instruments, cars, rehearsal spaces, and much more.
A quick word (or several) about the store.
If you want to get a boost, rather than waiting for one, pop into the store here

This is really the only issue I have with their in-game buying. It seems counter-intuitive to me that you have to withdraw star bits to Hive-Engine first. Hopefully, they will consider changing this? I know, it isn't a hindrance, just an annoyance to me.
One key note, since it is on the Hive Chain, you will need either
Hive Keys or Hive Signer
I hope this helped you in some way. This is a primer. The best thing to do is head over and play for yourself. If you decide to play, be sure to drop a comment below. I may reward some Star-Bits.
