Maulana Tariq Jamil is a Pakistani Islamic preacher, and with an audience of millions, he is regarded as one of the world's most influential Muslims. Jamil found himself in the center of controversy when he said that the Covid-19 pandemic was a clear sign of Allah's wrath in response to women's "immodesty." Perhaps if he were a woman, he would be able to understand that such sentiments are nothing but arcane traditionalism.
