It was a gloomy day as the remains of one of the Church leaders were interred amidst tears, grief and joy. But the hanging mist was quickly disappeared as I participated in leadership and discipleship seminar in the neighborhood. The leaders who were from one denomination, Lutherans Church of Nigeria (LCN). The theme was "Go and Make Disciples" anchoring on casting vision on where the Church isn't. It also emphasizes some paradigm shifts in which the church should engage in, instead of focusing on internal church maintenance which tends to consume the lean resources rather than concentrating on missions which priority is making disciples thereby building a healthy church. The emphasis was adduced from Mark 4:35 "Let us pass over unto the other side" and when they crossed over it was there a mad person who was possessed by demons was delivered and went to preach in Decapolis - ten cities. The Mad man has not gone to school or being a member of any denominations, but was discipled and he went sharing his story of how God showed him mercy.
It was a wonderful opportunity to meet these great men and women who were ready to take the gospel beyond the boundary of their denomination. One of them, really made friend with and desired to engage in Disciples-making process. Pray for more opportunities to share the gospel to the world lost in brokenness. My joy, however, anchored on seeing people coming to terms with reality of the Great Commission. May God continue to raise more labourers, who either Go, Give or Groan into His service. Amen
