Here’s my drawing for the Holozing traits Contest. This time I decided to draw portrait of female ocean healer.
I started with a simple sketch. First I drew short hair and then change it to long hair. She looked better with long hair because of her face shape. As for her dress I wasn’t sure what kind of dress I should draw but I wanted her to look more feminine that’s why I ended up drawing this dress for her.
I changed her skin tone multiple times. First it was too brown and then it was too pinky. It was like none of the colors were right especially when I was trying to color the dress. There was no harmony between the colors. It was the most challenging part when painting this portrait.
I liked coloring her dress and giving depth to it. Despite of using multiple layers for the hair part but it was too easy. Hair part just needs some time and patience to carefully draw lots hair strands.
Sometimes I like to turn the side of drawing darker but this time the drawing was too bright that’s why I added a layer on top and set it on multiplyand adjusted the opacity.
At first I didn’t want to draw any accessories but when the drawing was done I thought of adding accessories or tattoos and l sticked with the first idea because I was afraid tattoos might make her look delinquent somehow :D That was the opposite of what I wanted to portray :D
