EDIT: With car radiators the coolant separates from the water when it is heated. It then travels to the 'veins' in the front of the radiator. When collecting water from cars running the engine and heating it will separate some of the coolant. Purifying without using a professional filter is problematic, but I think you can take advantage of the different boiling points to separate the coolant from the water. I suggest a boiling/condensation collection method.
