This year, I declare my truce,
from ambitions that weigh,
from the noise that drowns my essence,
I will be the wind that blows without haste,
I will empty my being of old burdens,
Of shadows that nestle in my laughter.
No more longing to find in the distance,
nor in the brightness of foreign things,
For in the simple, in the air and dreams,
I find the refuge that fills my sorrow.
My hands, open, will receive the breeze,
instead of jewels, I will take beauty.
I will let go of what no longer embraces me,
the echoes of the past, the endless complaints,
where there was a garden made of thorns,
I will make a path that speaks of me.
And in stripping myself of what is not mine,
I will build a home that teaches me to feel.
