It is true

It is true that routine
was trapping us
And little by little
we got lost.
It's true that we tried
To keep the flame alive
But time and distance
We were defeated by time and distance.
It's true that you are no longer
By my side and that loneliness
has become my companion.
It is true that although
it hurts to accept it we are no longer
the couple we were before.
It's true that love
faded away and that the promises
The wind blew them away.
It's true that every day
I miss you more and more but now I understand
That we are no longer together.
