The title of my article is self explanatory. Nowadays some people with minimum skills has to have a stable salary from a job and a side income from any work done to survive life due to the downfall of economy and inflation being up. The salary of a government employee is less when compared to private jobs. Even though a stable income is coming, but that doesn't mean it's enough. Provided with a little out of the field skill, one can become a freelancer. If the skill pertains to software field it will become more comfortable.
Due to the rise of cost of living every where, both incomes will not match to survive for some people. In our office we have some people working under contracts, when their shifts end they go home and do another works which they are able to do. But both the incomes doesn't support their livelihood. Upon this when we request funds for the payment of their wages, government will release funds once in three or five months. How can the family of that person survive.
I have talked to them on how are you surviving with these piece mill salary, they say in our home everybody will work on something for the better livelihood of their family and each person has one or two jobs that they needs to full fill for betterment. Even though all the family members are working, but still not sufficient. A middle class man will know that the savings will not last long if they hit with a health issue.
A job person like myself is also earning something, but due to health issues of my mother that all goes in vein. If a health emergency occur in a family, we can neither postpone it nor bare the charges. The health insurance which government provide doesn't accepted in reputed hospital and there is also a huge amount of bills pending for clearance to the hospital authorities by the government. If any hospital is accepted this insurance, we still has to pay some amount as the cost of a particular diagnosis will be higher, but the government has made agreement to pay the least possible amount for it.
A freelancer can get paid constantly or not, but the side income has become necessary to some nowadays. But it provides a time convenient to our schedule and can be done at our convenience given the time period is good. The work will be relevant to the skills we posses and it will be faster as we have the skill to complete it. I basically thought hive community will be my side income and I'm making some progress here and hoping to gain on it. But it is just not the time to depend on it. I need to contribute to the community and be more active. I hope one day and job salary and side income provide me the relief in my present financial condition that I wanted so bad.
At present I need to concentrate on the information I need to contribute to this community and without any obstacles on my way to the betterment of my livelihood. I know hive is not all about earning money, but sharing information and interests. But I think of it as an earning opportunity too. Am I correct or not in assuming that a stable income and side income combined are also not sufficient to live a better life? Comment your views please.
