Hello people, it is yet another weekend and most times we get the chance to shop only during the weekends. And personally it has become a tradition to do my shopping during weekend. Not only market shopping, like my laundries and cleaning are done during the weekend. It’s just the period that grew with me. Shopping at the grocery store is my preferred place to shop or buy things because it’s less stressful, a bit cheaper than the local market for me, and more convenient for me. We buy things and what helps us decide is whether we want it or need it. So when we do decide to purchase what we want, we can either go to the stores ourselves, or can make use of the online form of shopping. But I prefer visiting the shop, to enable see what am buying and make choices.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to do some shopping at the grocery store in a shopping mall close to my area, and it turned out to be fun. Let’s say for instance, you where taking out for a market shopping and on getting there, you discovered you only got 60 seconds of your time to pick anything you want. What would you pick or what are the things you will go for, how would you go about this? This was the exact situation I got myself into yesterday but it all turned out to be exciting for me, but initially, the whole drama was all serious.

I went shopping with my friend and I was told I had just 60 seconds to pick everything and anything I want, and I accepted because I know 60 seconds is quite a long time and I would definitely do justice with using the time effectively. So my time started LOL, it was a crazy one, I was running here and there, crashing with people and trolleys, looking for what to pick and was also being considerate with my choices and my time was up. Well, I did picked enough but not as I wanted it but I wasn’t satisfied. like can we ever get satisfied with the idea of shopping freely? Even when you’re paying for them yourself, you would wish for more, especially in the kind of shop I was. That was when my friend told me it was all a joke. I was upset for the whole stress from running, the crazy pranks, apologies were made, we both laughed over the whole thing and I went about my proper shopping.

I placed back some of the things I picked before that wasn’t needed, went round lines after lines, because there were different sections, picked what I wanted, from the uncooked food, to beverages, body care cosmetics, snacks, chocolates and others. I took pictures of course for this purpose, got the the cashiers desk and made payment. One thing that was common about their price tags was the 1 Naira difference they had. For example, a bar of chocolate was 299 Naira, a jar of peanut butter was 1,199, it went on like that and still cheaper compare to how I get it outside.

And that was how my Market Friday shopping went.
