There are some monster cards in Splinterlands that have a very limited supply in the market. Because there are so few copies available that's why their prices become extremely high, making them very difficult to buy.
In fact some of these cards cannot even be rented. Only players who bought them long ago or received them as a gift have them in their decks. Since these cards are so rare, both their price and demand continue to increase.
Today I am going to talk about the Heloise the Hollow monster card which is considered one of the rarest cards in the game. If you want to rent this card, you won't be able to find it on the market. It is also incredibly expensive to buy and I will discuss its price and rental situation later in the next paragraphs.
Let's first look at its visual appearance. Since this monster belongs to both the Death and Earth elements, its background features two colors. The green color represents the Earth element while the purple color represents the Death element...
The monster looks like Dracula with long hair holding a sword in one hand and a magical energy in the other. It looks ready to launch a powerful attack that can deal massive damage to enemy units...
Its stats and abilities are outstanding. If you can afford this card then adding it to your deck is like adding a true game changing monster. However its price is so high that I personally dont think it matches its stats and abilities.
This is a 9 Mana monster card making it an excellent choice for medium and high mana battles. It can also be selected in low mana battles but doing so leaves you with very little mana to choose your remaining monsters making it much harder to build a balanced team.
Heloise the Hollow, is a Melee attacker with 8 Melee Power at Level 4. It deals 8 damage with every attack which is enough to destroy most enemy monsters very quickly. Even monsters with high health struggle to survive against its massive melee damage.
The card has 7 Health which is not particularly high. It is important to protect it as much as possible. It must stay longer in the battle to show its best powers against the enemy units.
It also has 3 Speed, allowing it to attack at a good pace while also increasing its chance of dodging enemy attacks.
At Level 4, Heloise the Hollow gains five special abilities.
The first ability is Taunt. A monster with Taunt attracts most enemy attacks toward itself. This protects your support monsters from being targeted. Because of this it is a good strategy to place healing and support monsters next to Heloise the Hollow.
so they can continuously restore its health while it absorbs enemy attacks. Since Taunt causes the monster to take heavy damage, having healers nearby greatly improves its chances of surviving.
The second ability is Opportunity. With Opportunity, the monster always attacks the enemy monster with the lowest Health even if that monster is in the backline. This allows it to quickly eliminate weak support monsters before they can continue helping the enemy team.
The third ability is Spite. When this monster is defeated it has a 100% chance to make one final counterattack against the monster that killed it. This means that even after being defeated, it can still deal one powerful attack to the enemy.
The fourth ability is Soul Siphon which is a powerful resurrection ability. When its conditions are met the monster can return to life with 100 Armor and 50% of its maximum Health. This gives another opportunity to continue fighting, making it even more difficult for the opponent to deal with.
The fifth ability is Last Word. If the enemy has the Final Rest ability, it cannot stop Heloise the Hollow defeat triggered abilities such as Resurrect or Soul Siphon. This ensures that these powerful abilities can still activate after the monster is defeated...
These five abilities make this monster one of the strongest and most valuable monster cards in Splinterlands and that that is one of the reasons this card is much expensive.
Now let's talk about its price. At the time of writing the content, a Level 4 copy of this card costs around $500 to $700 on the market. This is an extremely expensive card mainly because it is so rare.
There are currently no Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 copies available for sale, meaning players can only find the Level 4 version which explains its very high price.
The rental market tells the same story. At the moment this card is not available for rent because owners prefer to keep it in their own decks and take full advantage of its incredible power in battles.
