This is an illustration I did a while back, and I thought it fitting as a post coming on the heels of #InternationalWomensDay.
Granted I am super late, but I'm a woman so... Isn't that supposed to be in or DNA or something? 
But on a serious note, this piece was inspired by the very nature of the Universe itself. The vast dark abyss that supports and houses all the heavenly bodies we see in the night sky.
Chinese philosophy believes that all energy is either Yin or Yang in the nature of their function. Yang is masculine, or a projection like the light given off by stars, while Yin is feminine, and a pulling or restrictive force like blackholes for example.
And so with this in mind the Universal Mother was conceived and here she is doing her enternal dance of balanced creation.
Hope you guys like it. She is personally one of my favorite pieces though she is but a simple ballpoint pen doodle. To me she is a true mother in all her qualities, even her wispy illustrative style; a beauty to behold amid the chaos that she has created (her children. Lol)
