A friend told me a long time ago, back in high school, that intentions are everything and it stuck with me a lot.
Every action I do, I think back to what my intentions were. Unfortunately a lot of the time it's done more in self reflection versus before the action, but I still think about what I was really trying to accomplish and whether or not it came from a sincere place.
I guess that's why I struggle sometimes with social media. I wonder what the intention is when you put your information out there.
Are you doing a dance to impress someone, to present yourself a certain way. Or are you coming from a genuine place of wanting to share news with others in your life. Are you lonely and looking for an outlet, or are you simply so secure with your thoughts that you feel they can benefit others. And above all, is it arrogant to think people care? I could think about these for a long time but usually I keep it to myself because if anything I don't want to say things to be a bummer. I'm young and my opinions are half baked and one thing I can agree with myself on is that I don't think your intentions should be to hurt others.
So I guess to lay out what I think my intentions here are, are maybe to explore a new community. Maybe see what my thoughts today sound like in a week if I read them back. It might be a short lived experience but maybe I'll learn something by writing some things out. I guess these are probably selfish intentions, but they're not aiming to hurt others and that's good enough for me to want to give it a go.
