Hello everyone,
it's been 8 days ago that i have joined Steemit and DTube. Since then i learned quite a lot actually, how blockchains work, how IPFS work and how money is made and so much more. I would say it was worth it, just for that knowledge and the motivation to invest some time into researching.
And furthermore, the motivation you get, when you are able to see exactly how much money you generated with one post, is unbelievable. I struggled with myself to produce content on YouTube for over 2 years, because it not only didn't give you a reward for creating content, it's user base was so demanding and felt entitled to many hours of content per day, that i just lost the motivation because i knew that even when i upload 2 hours worth of videos per day, it was not enough.
The user base here is much more mature and patient. While there certainly more profitable topics on here, even with smaller topics, it feels nice and family. Where i felt, i had to follow certain trends and guidelines on YouTube to even be recognizes, here i can be myself and produce the content i want to create. Free of trends and weird algorithms that mess up everything on a daily bases. So for everyone who is in a similar situation and is fed up with the big red playbutton, give Steemit and DTube a chance, i guarantee you it is tenfold more motivating, even when you are a small blogger/DTuber.
So beeing the 8th day of my blog, i received my first payout. It wasn't much and me being new to all the cryptocurrency and fiatmoney thing, i converted it to steempower. I thought i would build my SP up until i can get a somewhat self sustaining channel here. That i can give myself 1-2 SBD per upvote. That way i can make a stable income so that i can somewhat finance all the games i want to buy this year, make playthroughs of them and in the end, review them. So if i am doing that wrong please let me now
I am very happy that i discovered Steemit and the blockchain and hope to be on here in a few years down the road. Thank everyone for your time reading this, and as always greetings from germany :)
