South Downs Sunset

Taking this photo of another South Downs sunset I noticed that all the local ones I've taken, so far, have an orange element to them. And that got me thinking . . . why are some sunsets red and do we have any red sunsets in winter in this part of Sussex?

Whatever the answer I never tire of such beauty as this. The sun going down in such splendour is a sight to behold no matter how many times I see it.
