What a sunny day, I decided to make the most of it and install a homemade drip watering system in my greenhouse.
It is used for the plants that I want to grow in the greenhouse and not outside but it would work in both areas of the garden.
To make the drip system for your self you need an empty bottle of some airline tubing a couple of nails and a piece of wood, something that can be inserted into the ground and hold the weight of the bottle when filled with water.
Cut the bottom off the bottle, and cut a flap out, nail this to the wood, drill a hole in the lid and push the airline tube through.
once this is all in place you can then tie a knot in the airline, now add the water. the key is to add the water and then tie the knot as you have to work out what flow you would like to come out of the tubing.
I have mine dripping every 30 to 45 seconds which is perfect for me, the drip of water is consistent and tomorrow I will be looking to see how well it has done overnight.
from there I will change the knot to either make it faster by loosening the knot or tighter to restrict the flow, this all depends on if the ground is too wet. trial and error they say.
before installing the drip system I had to clear a spot in the greenhouse for it to go, I decided to put it in the full sun to give the plants a real boost.
And here is a picture of my bee friend, I found it while clearing out the dirt and it looked tired and hungry, I gave it some water and popped it on a flower, after about half an hour it flow away so I was really happy that I was able to help the little fella out.
