I don't believe I have ever actually watched it either but I somehow know it was him. I think I was maybe 6 or 7 when it came out so I don't know if I would have been super into a military courtroom drama lol.

" I often wondered how much is was used to justify the way women were placed as lesser than or too sullied for the church in early Christianity."

I think it was used quite a lot but they weren't the first. In Greek myth it was also a woman who unleashes evil on the world and I think they probably used that story similarly.

Interestingly, Milton also makes Eve's fall a lot more difficult which makes her seem like way less of a dupe. I think Satan makes three attempts and he isn't successful until he appeals to her mind. He try's a "sex dream" at one point but it doesn't work (I think that's in book five). On the other hand, Adam immediately falls in what is a really cool scene in the poem. Eve walks out with the fruit and she looks all hot or something because she's fallen and Adam is holding some flowers for her which he drops and they die. I digress but the point is he comes as the weaker of the two in that version.
