I think that activity is up across the board. The "free" downvotes give them more room to work and I have been getting hit way more than usual too. I would absolutely have that concern about visibility if I was relying solely on manual curation for the majority of my payout and visibility. Early on, I invested a little Steem in SBI and that worked pretty well as "armor" against these little random downvotes. I think I accumulated 110 or 120 hares between the ones that I got from sponsoring people and a few contest wins and they usually drop between .25 and .40 on my posts. That alone, is more than enough to offset this type of attack.
