Sorry for the delay in responding, but only saw your question now.

For a couple of reasons.

1. I have written 13 books (14th on the way) of a total of about 20,000 pages. If I posted them all on the same account, it would make it more difficult for a potential reader to go back to start at the beginning (I was advised to keep my story at a maximum of 2 pages per post, which means there would have to be about 10,000 posts!) I decided to make it easier for my readers by splitting the books over a number of accounts, which is why I now am posting on arthur.grafo13. and ... any who follow tend to set their auto-voting to the first account and then never bother to take a look again... :)

2. Until the end of last year I did all I could to assist new posters - especially if I found some with a talent, for writing, art or whatever. I am fascinated by 'talent' as I find it mysterious, not explained by genes or DNA. Some are born with it and that is all we really know. It makes such people precious for me... but when I saw some whales attacking talents, because they claimed only articles on coding and digital coins are worth supporting (this was in the steemit days), I stopped caring about the platforms, stuck to helping just a few and ignore everything else. After all, my main reason for joining was the promise that everything placed on the blockchain is forever (well, for a long time) and I wanted to place my books on it. That is what I am devoted to doing, even if it means I do so at 10 pages per post - which means, no one upvotes them.

3. I am a pensioner and no longer have a bank account. This means that whatever money I earn, all I can do with it is give it away, since I cannot take any to give myself a treat. Self-interest is a great incentive for chasing after those who might give me meaningful upvotes, whereas, what I really want is comments from readers. Those are the life-blood for spending all my hours writing and posting. Not going to happen, so, I put on my blinkers and follow my own program.

PS: I have not really totally given up, I still check for new writers and artists, but do not see as many here as I did in steemit a few years ago. A pity, as there is quite a lot of talent from countries where poverty prevents them from honing their skills.

I hope you are one of the few who does try to encourage them.
