I understood that, which is why I made my comment.

I do not see the cosmos as being as alien as you do, after all, we all originated from the same laws of nature (big bang - if it happened - the formation of suns and planets, all had to face the same rules for them to exist). In other words, all our universe is 'family'.

The other point is, even if the population went way down to half a billion, we are still living on a planet with finite resources. If we can mine the asteroid belt and the Oort cloud, we have enough to keep us going for many of thousands of years.

The truth is, I find many people of this planet far more terrifying and alien than I would with a human from another planet. When I see men and women advocating the right to abortion of a baby (not a foetus) even after it is born...some going so far as to decide it should be up to the age of 8 years old - that is far too alien for me to want to think of them as human beings. When I see parents wanting to operate on their children so as to change their sex, stealing the right of that child to made an informed decision to destroy their lives or not (it is now established beyond doubt that suicides are highest among those who are trans).

I have gone back in time to read stories and poems of yours and I gained the impression that you do not share many of the biases I have, but those are not what is important to me. In the main I believe that talented people like you should not be judged on how well you fit in with my (obviously narrow) view of the universe, but in how blindingly your talent reaches out to light up parts of my own heart and soul; to delight me with those aha moments.
