It started with the phone ringing. She wanted to set up an appointment for my yearly furnace check-up. Okay I said and asked for a date—checked the price, since it always goes up—and that should have been that—it wasn't. She asked for my email. Try as I might I couldn't get her to copy the right spelling. I became frustrated and finally after 3 attempts I hung-up. I was upset—not in a good mood as they say—a cranky character. My phone rings again. I don’t answer. What’s the point? Later I had a thought: I'll email her and then she'll have my address. I did—but that didn't end the confusion and frustration—it was just beginning. She replies to confirm my appointment—one problem—she's got the incorrect day of the week with the correct date. I email her back to correct the error. I go about other business. I check back later. No reply. So I call and find out she's left for the day. So I think: okay she'll respond tomorrow and we'll get this cleared up.
Next morning, still no reply. So I decide to call again. She answers. I mention who I am and start trying to get the appointment day corrected. She says she's just sent me an email. It hasn't arrived yet, but I try to correct the problem anyway. She keeps interrupting me saying they won't be working on the day I mention it's a holiday, the incorrect day in her email, she says if I want to reschedule to another day—I don't need to if she'd just admit the correct appointment day. I keep trying to get a word in, but she keeps interrupting me—finally I try to stop her and to get a word in—“NO, No, No!” I say. She reacts “I will not tolerate your yelling at me!” She says “I will not talk to you anymore on the phone. I sent you an email.”
Her email arrives. I say I'll read it. “Yeah!” she says. “Oh for heavens sake.” I say and hang-up. Her latest email reply says the exact same thing she was just saying to me on the phone—she still won't admit her mistake. I try one more time. I copy and paste her original email, with the incorrect day and correct date, and say this is the reason for the confusion. I send it to her. She emails back that I am obviously not professional enough to answer her email properly and she will not do business with me anymore and their company will never contact me again. I email her back I'm glad she has canceled my appointment, since I was seriously considering canceling it myself (I was) and any further service from them. She fires back “My pleasure.” Signed amateur customer.
