To break through Castillo's blockade, I returned to Clara's camp. After Clara rallied her fighters, Juan requested air support by destroying an anti-aircraft cannon. I infiltrated the blockade zone on horseback, but a alerted guard triggered a chaotic gunfight. Despite guerrilla backup, an explosion fatally wounded me on the battlefield.
The plan was clear. We had to break through Castillo's blockade because there was no other choice. Libertad had to win or die. There was only one way to succeed, and that was to punch a hole straight through Castillo's warships.
To get everything started, I needed to return to Clara's camp. At that moment, I was standing near the Sagrado checkpoint.
I looked around the area and found a few horses nearby. I picked one of them, mounted up, and began my ride toward Clara's camp.
Riding through the island during the sunset was a surprisingly peaceful sight. The golden light washed over the landscape, making the journey look quiet and beautiful despite the looming war.
It did not take long to reach Clara's camp on horseback. When I arrived, Clara was already standing with her people. They were waiting and planning their next move. Clara took out a few smoke grenades, pulled the pins, and threw them to show her interest in the war.
She spoke passionately to everyone, reminding them that we only had twenty minutes before armed forces would arrive on their position. Clara urged everyone to prepare for the coming battle. She was not just giving orders; she was convincing the fighters to stand ground and fight for their freedom.
She reminded them that Castillo's forces would continue to spread fear unless they stopped fearing death themselves. Her words resonated with the group, and soon, everyone joined in by throwing smoke grenades into the air to signal their readiness.
Shortly after, Juan contacted me. He mentioned that he had secured a chopper, but an anti-aircraft cannon was blocking the airspace around Castillo's warships. He explained that if I could eliminate that cannon, he would provide air support.
With our goal clearly defined, I set off to destroy the cannon.
I saved an unarmed man on my way by slitting the throat of his capturer. He later took up the rifle and joined the Guerillas.
I made my way toward the target location, but as I got closer, I noticed a heavily fortified blockade guarding the entrance. Realizing a direct assault would be foolish, I dismounted my horse and decided to infiltrate the site quietly. I moved through the brush, sticking to the shadows to avoid detection.
Near the entrance, I spotted a Castillo soldier standing guard, while another soldier was actively threatening an innocent civilian. I then kept moving and tried to follow another patrolling enemy officer deeper into the facility. Unfortunately, she turned around at the wrong moment and spotted me.
Even though she died, the gunshots alerted the surrounding guards, and they began searching for me. Seeing the commotions, several guerrilla fighters who had followed me to the site rushed in to join the fight. The area quickly descended into chaotic gunfire.
I tried to eliminate as many soldiers as I could, but in the chaos, an explosive went off right near my position. The heavy blast threw me to the ground, leaving me severely wounded.
I tried to hold on, hoping one of the guerrillas would reach me in time to revive me, but no one was able to reach my position before I died.
How about we continue in another post?
