Toned down the yellow a bit - it was hmmm... very abrasive.
We bought some seeds this summer and guess what .. we have the catalogue now being mailed to us. I found these in that catalogue and my love for all things cad yellow reared its head again. I am definitely going to plant these next year but the yellow is so delicious I could not help but try and paint them.
Not finished yet - quite a way to go especially if you are like me - a mark here and a mark there while you are passing the easel :D to go unload the dishwasher or while the food is simmering .
I refrained from smudging and using fixative and resorting to layering. I used Micheals soft pastel which I have big doubts about -they need quite a bit of pressure for the kind of marks I am aiming for and do not take kindly to layering lights over dark. I was contemplating getting Sennelier but my guilty mom self wont let me spend the money .
