Hello Hive peeps!
In case you haven't noticed, the Philippine community is slowly but surely gaining more traction again here in the blockchain. This is good, because who does not love Hive? I mean, what's there not to love?
Thanks to @mrnightmare89's initiative, we have this writing contest where we can share more about our beloved country, Philippines!
Find out more about the contest here.
Did you know?
before the Hive blockchain, the Philippines is the original "hive"?
Yup! It is the home of a very famous bee - Jollibee. Langhap-sarap! lol.
Okay. Erase. Erase. Waley ang joke. 馃ゴ I thought about that as I was about to sleep the other night, and thought I really have to include it on this post. (sarreehh na!鉁岋笍)
A stranger in my own homeland.
Sad to say, we have not been living in the Philippines for 15 years now so I cannot share as much travel photos. Ever since we had our first child 11 years ago, we never really had the chance to go around the place whenever we went home for a vacation.
So let me link here some entry posts that can give you more information about the Philippines. They've done amazing write ups!
@jemzem brings us to different places at this post, while
@juanvegetarian fills us in with a lot of other information here in his post. .
There has to be something I can tell you about the Philippines.
I am a proud OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) here in the Middle East, where millions of other Filipinos work. You know, Filipinos are sprinkled all around the world and I would say, their host countries are very lucky to have attracted a Pinoy workforce.
Ethical, hard-working, compassionate, dedicated, smart, resilient... the list goes on.
The spirit of "Bayanihan" (coming together) is present even in a foreign land.
Oh, I should not fail to mention the warm, smiling faces the Filipinos wear on their faces regardless of the challenges they face. (Shout out to the Filipino Frontliners all over the world!)
I wish I can tell you more about the Philippines, but you see, the best way is really to experience it.
Explore the sceneries, meet the people and experience Pinoy hospitality. Really, it is more fun in the Philippines!
For me, nothing can beat home. It is where my heart is!
As for my kids, right now let me just give them as much as taste of Philippines as I can. See them play some games we enjoyed as kids.
There you have it! My entry to the Tell Me About the Philippines Writing Contest. I look forward to seeing yours!
