picking up from where we left off...
A couple of weeks back, I shared a casual meet-up with a couple of my girl friends where we just laid back and chatted over delicious focaccia and some good coffee. Our hours of chit-chat did not end there. Just when we thought that Friend 1 was ready to drive back to Dubai since it was already 10 pm, she decided to grab one more cup of coffee "to keep her awake " on her drive back.
Friend 2 suggested that we pass by Marsa Mina which was along the way. Marsa Mina is an entertainment and food district located just next to the Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal. There are food trucks, restaurants, and of course, coffee shops!
It is such a beautiful destination, especially at night when the place is all lit up!
Ola Cafe
We drove around and found this cozy cafe, Ola Speciality Coffee. They have an outdoor seating but we decided to spend our time inside the shop. It also has a nice interior that is warm and cozy. The aesthetic design is relaxing. I wouldn't mind sitting here and enjoying my me-time over coffee.
But this time, it was with my beautiful friends.
I've had enough black coffee, and seriously, it was past 10 pm already, who would want more kick? Anyway, I still had a few tasks to finish for work when I get home, so I might as well.
My buddies both got a cappuccino, if I remember correctly, while I got a cup of macchiato which was honestly too sweet for my taste.
Oh well, maybe it's just me that's just so used to black coffee...
But guess what?! Despite this being my second cup for the evening, I still felt sleepy while we were in the coffee shop. Could it be because of the warm lights inside, I don't know.
So I stood up and checked out the coffee bean packs they had on display. The packs had details like what type of coffee berries it was, from how high it was harvested, etc. These below are of caturra variety from 1500 - 1700 meters above sea level. (Hey, I am not a coffee expert, just stating what's on the packet label. LOL)
Cinderella exit
As usual, we headed out just before the strike of midnight. It's particularly great that all three of us have very understanding husbands who let us have our time out with friends (even if it goes way past midnight).
The three of us saw each other again last week for a quick catch-up since we expect not to see each other for months this summer. So next coffee session with these ladies might just be around September. Already booked. :D
