If there is any indication to the inevitable adoption of Bitcoin to mainstream society is to see major companies making it as a part of their operation. Now Microsoft has taken one more step forward by making their spreadsheet creation software (Excel) be able to include the Bitcoin symbol as a currency when recording financial data.
Unfortunately, there is very little information about the new Excel currency option. We do not know when the feature will be added to the program for all users, if its coming to the entire Microsoft Office package. This move is just consistent to Microsoft's initiatives to support Bitcoin. The tech giant first started accepting Bitcoin payments for its products in 2014, making it one of the earliest big names to do so. Microsoft’s venture capital division – known as M12 – was reportedly one early financial backers of the Bakkt. Among others are Galaxy Digital, Horizons, Ventures, Fortress Investment Group, and the Boston Consulting Group.
We shall see in the near future major companies follow suit as it becomes clearer that betting on Bitcoin's side belongs to the winners' circle. Well history has proven it time and again technology and innovation always win it at the end, so don't bet against it.
