No any other tank can resist against Rexxie's melee attacks because he has 6 melee attack and can be increased more if another friendly monsters has inspire ability. Rexxie costs just 7 mana which is great for a strong tank. His speed is good enough to hit the enemies and he has one skill where if he kills the enemy monster then he will attack the next monster behind the first one. If enemy has shield then his first attack unfortunately will go waste.
