Haven't written an SYB post for a while on my other account. Need to get back to it ;)
Alvar is a legendary card, and a good one. It took my quite some time to get one, as it was not cheap due to his skills. His main advantage is the amount of shield he has combined with his Void Armor ability. This protects him from all kind of damage. We will get into how to utilize this in the shared fight.
On higher levels he get the Giant Killer, which is a nice ability, but very situational.
On the other hand Demoralize is a healthy upgrade mainly in Melee only fights.
At the end we have a Death Blow ability, which I think can be rarely used, as Alvar is a tank, so it does not stay on the battlefield till the end... But let's imagine his hit, against a Kron, which would be increased by the Giant Killer as well as the Deathblow ability... MAD!

My main strategy was built around Legionnaire Alvar, I utilize his high Shield and "Void Armor". I wanted to be prepared for any type of attack with this card. It basically started with 14 health, which had to be destroyed.
And I have tried to upgrade it's health even more. I used
A total of 28 health from one an Alvar tank!!!
My enemy had a good base counter strategy against my heavily magic focused team. As with Bone Golem and Thaddius Brood they neglected almost all of my magic attacks. That was the main reason I put melee and ranged cards on the field as well. The Disintegrator was a good choice as well by my enemy to lower my melee attacks.
I still could hit my enemy, but my punch was halved.

So I believe this card is a great addition to any deck in the position of the tank. Enjoy to play with it and see you in game!
