Joining the weekly contest on Hive Learners Channel on Discord. The topic in summary is would you prefer to travel alone in your personal careers or travel in group in a commercial vehicle.
My answer or should I say my preference would be to travel alone in my personal car. I find it way more comfortable than traveling with groups of people in a commercial vehicle. I have my reasons
First, the conditions of commercial vehicles here in Nigeria is so terrible as most of them are badly maintained. There are commercial vehicles you will pray not to board,the severity of their condition shoes during rainy season.
I traveled recently to another city here in Nigeria. It was a sienna. It started racing on the way, the wipers were not working. It was bearable at some point, the driver could still manage. It got to a point that the rains was heavy. We had to speak up tobthe driver that we can't continue the journey like that. He had to park, got down from the car, twitched something when he opened the bonnet and boom, the wiper started working.
I was like look at the stress he had to go through to make the wiper work. He was really drenched before he could enter the car. I continued to thinks to myself that we were quite lucky that it worked eventually. Some are so bad to the extent that passengers in the Car will get drenched from leakages from the cars. Too bad isn't it
Secondly, I have my freedom to do as i will when i travel alone, I don't like to bother people in any way, like stopping the commercial carrier to ease myself, i feel like I am causing some inconvenience to some people by doing that. If i were to travel alone, i know that i am not bothering anyone and feel free to do as i wish. Even in times i need to fart, 馃槀. I won't be bothered if it is going to smell or not. I know its just me in the car, so why not.
If I need to buy something along the road too, I will do do without bothering or delaying anyone therefore will conveniently negotiate with the seller.
I just like being able to do as I please. So I will choose traveling alone over the other option.
