Lo más emocionante de esta rotación clínica es la expresión más grande de la vida, ver un nacimiento.
Por lo general en las guardias de obstetricia, las emergencias son para vida, el embarazo es un estado fisiológico (normal) y en nuestras guardias solo corremos para recibir esas nuevas vidas que salen del vientre materno.
Nuestra guardia pasada estuvo llena de gestantes que daban a luz, a tal punto que perdí la cuenta de los bebés cuando llegamos a 6 entre parto natural y cesáreas.
La mayor impresión ha sido ver a mi amiga emocionada por la captura de esta foto tan hermosa con una bebé muy activa desde sus primeras horas.
Recibir a estas creaturas es algo emocionante que hay que llevar a cabo con mucha técnica para que ese proceso fisiológico culmine lo más normal posible y evitar las distintas complicaciones que puede hacer que este estado finalice como patológico (enfermedad).
Los bebés de la noche son recibidos y dejados en incubadoras unas horas antes de ser llevados con sus madres. Las posiciones que adoptan en este período son maravillosas, me encanta verlo en esta etapa y cada uno tiene una conducta diferente, destacó que alguno lloran como ustedes no tienen idea, nos ha tocado idearnos para calmarlos sin sacarlos del calor de la incubadora.

La posición que adoptó este con sus manos me fascinó, algo muy tierno y tan genuino. Lamentablemente las dotaciones y recursos médicos en Venezuela no son lo suficientemente aptos para darle un soporte individual a cada recién nacido, por lo que algunas veces toca meter a dos recién nacidos en una misma incubadora ya que no hay suficientes para todos.
Pero gracias a Dios, a los niños no les importa esto y solo están muy poco tiempo en la institución.
Disfruto ver nacer a los bebés, ese primer llanto que denota vida sana para nosotros y nos tranquiliza, es la señal de que todo está bien.
A pesar de haber tenido una guardia bastante activa y llena de trabajo, al llegar a su fin con tanto cansancio podemos sentirnos satisfechos de haber culminado con éxito esta rotación tan bonita llena de vida.
Este es un recuento de mi día de guardia de ésta semana, he pedido autorización para hacer las fotos públicas.

Overnight babies are received and left in incubators for a few hours before being taken to their mothers. The positions they adopt in this period are marvelous, I love to see them in this stage and each one has a different behavior, it is worth mentioning that some of them cry like you have no idea, we have had to try to calm them down without taking them out of the warmth of the incubator.

The position this one took with his hands fascinated me, something very tender and so genuine. Unfortunately the medical resources in Venezuela are not enough to give individual support to each newborn, so sometimes you have to put two newborns in the same incubator because there are not enough for all of them.
But thank God, the babies don't mind this and are only in the institution for a very short time.
I enjoy watching the babies being born, that first cry that denotes healthy life for us and reassures us, it is the sign that all is well.
In spite of having had a very active and busy on-call, we can feel satisfied to have successfully completed this beautiful rotation full of life.
