This building is located in the center of Banda Aceh City, Indonesia. This mosque is one of the grandest in Indonesia, even Southeast Asia. This mosque has been built since the 16th century, more than 100 years ago. It was named the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque. When the Tsunami hit Aceh in 2004, this mosque was not damaged and still stands firmly in the middle of the city.
The Baiturrahman Grand Mosque building has been renovated several times. Previously, this mosque only had an area of 624 square meters, while now it reaches 4,000 square meters. Initially this building was only able to accommodate 3,000 worshipers, but after renovations it can now accommodate up to 24 thousand worshipers.
