The human mind is a wondrous thing, but it is susceptible to imagine things that are not as they seem.

When we imagine the impossible, logic is useless, and science is helpless to deal with it.
We tend to believe the impossible from time to time where logic is useless and science is helpless. Impossible things need to follow some assortment of rules that apply to the world which is created with our sensory experience.

Is the life we live anything close to what we perceive it to be?

I've come across a theory which may answer this, and it's called Solipsism, and it argues that "nothing exists but the individual's consciousness."

Some may see this as something that is uncanny and weird, but I mean how someone can deny the existence of the world around us, and too when they are a part of it?

If you ponder that matter, you realise that everything in the world which you perceive is validated by your consciousness.

Each dream which you have experienced in your life felt authentic to you and is something which has been generated by your find, and you felt so indulged and connected to them.

Now think calmly. Is it not possible impossible that everything around you is nothing but an incredibly intricate dream, or a mist that we discern is real, but we fail to recognise the true reality of this world.

However some could say we have been given our senses of hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting and feeling so everything must be undoubtedly real, right?
Yes, and no.

Let's take for example people who take hallucinogenic drugs like LSD. They say that they can touch the most convincing hallucinations, but we as a species do not claim that their visions are 'reality', but our scepticism is their reality.

It made me think of the movie The Matrix where the character Morpheus said that "If real is what you can feel, smell, taste and see, then 'real' is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain."

If we think about this quote, although the Matrix is a sci-fi movie it does make sense. I've discussed previously how we can be hardwired and conditioned and the same can be done to alter our view of 'true reality'. Our reality is what is fed to our brains and shaped by how we have evolved as humans on this planet.

Real Life Implementation of a 'Fake Reality'

Brain implants are being provided to deaf children by scientists to enable them to hear despite the fact the child may not have ear-drums at all, and this leads to different things being associated with different sounds. A dogs bark may be seen as a mere 'woof', but for someone else, it could sound somewhat robotic and canny or sound nothing like our interpretation at all defacing the 'true' sound of something and 'true sound' becomes subjective.

Furthermore, there are devices that are currently being trailed and tested are being implanted into blind peoples visual cortex of the brain so that they can watch a render of the world around them. An image which is subject to outputting the wrong colours or skewing the world as we see it. One's red could be another's yellow.

The world as we know the physical world, of course, influences it but the world we recognise is just a story generated by our minds then misconstrued to fit our correction of the world.
