We are living in 21st century, a century where technology has taken over many things it has made man’s life very simple. We can talk and see anyone, anytime we want, we can go and meet anytime we want. Many things are possible which felt like a dream few years ago. I have heard people often saying that females should get same respect, freedom, responsibilities etc. as it is gives to males. Somehow it has come true there are many fields where females are working equally with males, at few fields they are doing even better than males. But have we actually reached that target of gender equality?

There are still many places in this world where females didn’t get freedom to make their own choices of life whether it is professional or personal. I live in India and there are so many places where a girl is not allowed for higher studies or to do job. In village areas parents marry their daughter at very young age around 16-18. What girl should do, whom she meets, what she wears, whom she gets married, when she should go out and all other things are decided by parents only. Whereas there are no such limitations on boys, they are allowed to do anything they want.

Gender equality exists because of the discriminating nature of parents and family members and of course society. Amartya Sen narrates seven forms of gender inequalities: mortality, natality, basic facility, special opportunities, profession, ownership and household.

At one place where women are reaching at top in various fields like entertainment, sports, defense, science & technology etc. whereas on other place they are not even allow to leave their home without their parents consult. Discrimination is everywhere, there are so many things which society thinks that women can’t do or they shouldn’t do.

Good news is there are so many countries where woman doesn’t feel inferior to men. They work and make their decisions as equally as men without any restrictions, because of equality of gender. And I hope soon whole world will become like this, because a country only progresses when women of that country progresses.

So let's make this world eequal by giving your daughters, sisters, mothers, wife the chance they deserve to become equal like men.
