Night falls, everything grows dark
distant lights, preys and predators afar.

Not one soul wanders here
only those that do wait in the dark
for others to come in their lair
and end up stiff and stark.

The end of the day
the best of the day.

In the deathly silence,
no heart dares to beat
it dares not to disturb that balance,
for it may be forbidden to ever again beat.

A gloom swallows everything
leaving only silence in it's wake.

The sudden bam, the sudden clip
the loud slam, the loud zip,
the piercing flash, the piercing bullet,
the death of man, the pierced gullet.

The curtains close, a man dies,
life goes on, no one bats an eye.

A harsh truth of life,
that in the dark of the night
the primeval human instinct
sees the light of the day.
