Here's an architectural project I've been working on for the past few months. As part of my masters studies in architecture, I designed an integrated social housing complex, urban cemetery, and urban apiary. The project is sited in a series of vacant lots in Barcelona, Spain.
My project is located in the Barcelona Neighborhood of El Poblenou, an area bustling with tech and industrial activity, as well as educational, commercial, and residential use. All this occurs within the 19th century urban grid of engineer Ildefons Cerda. The massing of my building was largely governed by the need to bring light in to every housing unit, on such a constrained site with a dense program.
