The World Health Organization has stated that in order to systematically guarantee the safety of drinking water and protect public health, special attention must be paid to the implementation of a framework and plans for water safety. In response to this concern, this research proposes the design of an environmental management plan to improve the safety of drinking water and quality of life in a community in Venezuela (For ethical reasons, the place name of the population is reserved); as a preventive measure to avoid possible outbreaks of pathologies associated with the consumption of untreated water; also, it is oriented to avoid pollution and stimulate environmental conservation. The methodological scaffolding is determined by the type of participatory action research in correspondence with a strategic design of field and documentary. The main instrument for collecting information is the questionnaire and it was applied by means of the survey technique, in a representative sample (186 analysis units); after obtaining, processing the data and subsequent statistical analysis, it was concluded that there is a risk of affecting human health, due to the lack of sanitary measures in households to treat the resource before consumption, aggravating the situation the inadequate management of solid waste, disposal of sewage and operation of septic tanks near the source of catchment. In response to the identified need, we proceeded to properly organize the elements and mechanisms necessary to structure the design of the process system, which prevents unfortunate situations on the collective and exerts a transformative social change in favor of optimizing the quality of life of the population. subject of study.
