And because you believe 'Assad gassed his own people' there are two logical (from your name) explanations:

1. Assad slipped away from his guards in the presidential palace, drove his motorbike to the heavily guarded military airbase without being noticed, and flew a helicopter after stealing its keys, of course, he filled it with fuel and brought the gas cylinder with him on board, flew the helicopter over the building, put the helicopter in autopilot mode while he ran to the back to drop the cylinder and then flew back to the military airport where he returned the helicopter and then slipped back to the palace without being noticed. Very plausible theory I'd say, for Hollywood fanboys!
2. Syrian army pilots and personnel thought it's a good idea to drop chemical weapons on their own family members to please the president after they won the war on the ground and their fellow officers would enter the same targeted area in a couple of hours, because as the world knows the Syrian Army is very immune to chemical weapons and always enter places bombed by chemicals immediately after the bombings without any masks and then get carried on the shoulders by the receiving crowds happy to be liberated from no other than al-Qaeda (unless they are the good guys now). I guess this is less plausible as the first theory, otherwise, how would we explain it's not reported by The New York Times?!

There's always another version: The US's pentagon and its propaganda tools lied to justify a war, but I guess they lied before several times why would they lie again knowing they've been busted each time but after it's too late. Maybe because their audience are stupid enough to believe them each time they lie to them with the same exact lie: Iraq's WMDs, Afghanistan's cavemen knocking down the US's most advanced air defense and intelligence apparatuses to allow Bush and Chenney run their Nabocco pipeline through their country after stealing it and placing a military base on the southern borders of Russia and blocking China's land route to Europe through Iran and the Middle East, the Libyan unarmed protesters marching peacefully against their own leader who made their country the pride of Africa and now enjoying US-style democracy............
