Your timing is all wrong.
These papers were written well AFTER the Iraq War (2005 & 2009).
They represent trying to make the best of the situation after the US invasion, not an encouragement to invade.
Also two American Israelis do not represent the views of the Israeli government.
Plenty of senior Israelis were warning against the second Gulf War.
The Gulf War preparations started in 2002 with hostilities breaking out on 20 March 2003, less than 4 weeks after Ariel Sharon (Likud) formed the 30th government on 28 February 2003.
For all the prior 4 year period Labor had been in government.
It is quite wrong to suggest Likud influence had anything to do the US decision to invade Iraq.
