Taking off the Crown of Thornes

While passing by a cemetery in the north of France, this statue of Mary the mother of Jesus Christ taking off the crown of thorns struck me and made me take a closer look.
It is the scene after Christ was crucified and was taken from the cross after death. You can see the love and care of the mother of Christ even after his death.
The statue is made of some kind of cast iron and was made by an incredible artist. It tells the drama and the aftermath of the death of Christ.
