This drawing took a lot of hours, and was created with a drawing tablet.
This is what I used:
This is the huion h610 pro v2, an entry level drawing tablet. I did not have a lot of budget for an high end one, so I got this drawing tablet. I have been using the drawing tablet for a few years now, and it is still working.
The rough sketch does not need to be too detailed, just need to capture the rough position of the portrait. Some artists want the drawing to look perfect in the beginning, but to me I am okay with this as a base as I will be able to refine it going forward.
Again, the base colors do not need to be detailed, just needs to get the right tones and approximate color in the portrait. It is a guide to capture the tones and shadows.
This is the longest step. This step requires a lot of time. The eyes also take a lot of time to complete. To me the eyes are probably the most important part of the portrait, so lot of effort is spent on drawing the eyes properly.
This part is placing more detail on the dress and the hair. There is a lot of patterns so it took some time. Now it is just the background.
