Hello friends. It's my birthday in a couple of days so I thought I'd post a picture and share some poetry.
But, first I'd just quickly like to say that I've been through a lot this year and I'm grateful to still be here. đź¤
Recently I decided to get a better microphone so I had something extra to do while I'm healing up and recovering.
I still don't feel confident enough to say that I know how to rap or sing, but... I do enjoy trying to find my voice and expressing my poetry more so I'm going to keep working on just regular spoken word poetry for a while and hopefully over the years eventually I learn enough and practice enough to the point where I feel like I can sing or rap or something like that.
Though, even if I never get to that point, I'm just happy to be able to do regular spoken word and to try to add an extra element to my artwork that I was too insecure or scared to even try before.
If you'd like to give me a birthday gift you could listen to the video I uploaded to YouTube which I'll put a link for in the comments or you could read the text version which I'll include below as well.
Peace, much love and bye until next time! <3
According to scientific minds…
I had the most poisonous poison inside.
Was almost completely paralyzed.
And nearly died.
Somehow I survived.
And now I'm coming back.
I'm coming back to life.
Trying to get back on track.
After such a difficult plight.
Had so many needles and tubes stuck in me.
Received some significant scars.
Even the experts said they couldn't imagine experiencing such things.
I went deeper than ever into my heart.
Met myself in some of the darkest settings.
Kindled by an inner spark.
Let my spirit sing.
From being broken apart.
Now moving towards more healing.
No matter how hard.
Often getting flashbacks.
So many difficult memories intact.
Trying to make a comeback.
Even if I come in last.
Grateful just to show up.
And I know adversity isn't just in the past.
Philosophizing a bunch.
Life such a challenging task.
Actively pursuing wants while I still can.
Maybe one day I'll be able to take off this mask.
Under an altered awareness.
Looking at things a bit differently.
Not expecting fairness.
Prepared as if ritualistically.
Developing habits of being present to share this.
Life so intimately.
Don't seem to know what's apparent.
Apparently illusions continue convincingly.
Much love to those who are struggling.
I hope things improve for you soon.
I hope good opportunities begin manifesting, abundantly.
Humbly full of best wishes let loose.
Like butterflies fluttering.
In a new season with the flowers in bloom.
Sputtering and coloring.
Investigating these clues.
Discovering and rediscovering.
The truth and the lack of truth.
Windy, gusting... Existence keeps puddling and thundering.
Such beautiful sentiments of you.
I know this picture isn't super amazing and I likely wouldn't have even shared this normally, but this view made me cry on my first walk out in nature after getting home from the hospitals.
It's difficult to put into words.
I think it had to do with losing my ability to walk and so many other basic things and being stuck in hospital beds for so long that it just felt so good to be back out in nature... I love nature. <3
