Yesterday was one of the most difficult adventures so far...
The first part went great, had some cloud cover and the sun didn't come out and start roasting me until I was just about done with the quest!
I had climbed a steep mountain and found something super interesting and got some nice footage and then after I hiked almost all the way back down I had one drone battery left and sent it up and...
I went to check a spot back up near the top and I thought I was being really safe and had plenty of room on the sides and then I lost connection to the drone and kept waiting and waiting for it to come back and...
Eventually I got a picture of an upside down tree and I freaked out, I was pretty sure it crashed at that point and shortly later the grim reality set in and I had to decide if I wanted to try to go up and get it.
The sun was out at this point and was cooking me alive, plus I was quite tired from everything already and I didn't know if I would even be able to get it back as it was way up on the side of a steep cliff.
I didn't want to take a chance of a rain storm moving in or having it sit and bake in the sun for too long so I went after it and it was some of the most difficult terrain ever.
Was super steep up there and the plant life was just so overgrown from no one ever going up there that I essentially had to create a path by breaking through where I could and tunneling through all the bushes.
The higher I got the more hope I had because it looked like I'd be able to get up there and eventually I did make it up and found the drone and was so incredibly relieved.
It was right close to almost falling off a huge cliff and if it had fallen off there it probably would not function anymore, I really lucked out and tested it out when I got back down and it still works! :)
Text just can't describe how difficult it was, that will be one I will always remember and so grateful that it all worked out okay in the end, what a workout and experience that was!!!
PS... The picture included was from earlier in the day before I crashed the drone, I was finding a new way down the mountain and it was quite steep! But, pretty fun too. :) <3
