Today, the thermometer shows a temperature of -33 degrees. I hope this is the lower limit of this next wave of cold. Tomorrow it should warm up to -20 degrees.
I didn't go to work today and, probably, tomorrow I will also work from home in the "remote work" mode.
I'm watching the birds outside my window again.
And today my main guest is a red-assed woodpecker.
This woodpecker has already been to my feeder 2 times, but then he did not stay longer than 10 seconds. This time he decided to take his time and let me take pictures of him.
This bird was interested in the fat that was hung for the blue tits. There is practically nothing left of the piece of fat, only one skin. But the woodpecker was very actively tapping on it with its long sharp beak.
I thought the woodpecker would fly away after he pecked at this piece of pork fat. But he was in no hurry this time. He decided to examine the trunk of the tree and jump a little on the branches of the tree. And show yourself in different poses. Maybe he even saw me. One day he looked directly into the camera lens.
Look, friends, how funny the woodpecker looks out from behind the trunk of a tree. And he's clearly looking at me. But there is only 3 meters between me and the bird. But there is a temperature difference of 54 degrees between us. And there's a windowpane between us.
Today is already December 23. Christmas will start in 2 days. But not Orthodox Christians. They still have a Christmas fast. And Christmas will be on January 7th.
And birds do not know such holidays. But the woodpecker is quite ready for Christmas. His outfit is very suitable for this.
