It's been a long time since I've shown the birds around me, for about a month now. Business and worries do not allow me to look at birds, all my walks are inside the village, and there are almost no birds except crows and pigeons. But today I want to show her, the heron. This is the first heron that I see in the wild so close. I must say that herons are very rare in our area. I've only seen them a few times, but they were very far away.
Today, during a morning walk, I decided to go to the old quarry. Apparently I was sent to this place by aunt Luck. When I came to the edge of the high bank, I saw that a big bird was taking off. I quickly picked up my camera and literally started taking pictures for luck.

When I used to see herons, they usually flew far and high in the sky. And this one turned out to be under my feet against the background of turquoise-colored water. My wife said it was like an albatross at sea. I think it's a guy. The mother heron should sit on the nest.
There is also a strange thing - I don't see seagulls! And now I thought - bird flu is probably to blame! on the border of the region, a mass death of birds was discovered, among which there were gulls. Veterinarians recognized the cause of death as avian flu. Today I heard on the news on TV that dead seagulls were also found in Kirov, our regional center.

I looked at the bird flying away and realized that it would not come back now. But I still have a question in my head - where does she live, where does she have a house? Probably somewhere on a remote forest small lake, so that no one could disturb this beautiful bird.
@nelinoeva, I tried to see a singing bird, but so far it has not worked out.
