It's already October in our yard. Two days ago, a cold wind blew from the north, and the thermometer dropped to 0 degrees. Snowflakes started fluttering this afternoon. Winter is coming. In a month, everything will probably turn white.
There is still a lot of work in the garden. There is always a lot of work in the garden.
What else do I need to do before the frost? It is necessary to plant winter garlic and onions. To do this, I cultivated a garden bed for planting. This was the main task in the garden today.

alt

These are the last cucumbers of this year. I removed the borage today because the frosts have done their job; all the tops are withered.
Even today, I saw 2 huge cucumbers in the greenhouse. How could I not see them last time?

alt

Here they are: these 2 large cucumbers. Fresh green onions are a bonus. After harvesting onions in August, my wife planted small bulbs, and the result is vitamins on the table. Of course, late cucumbers are also very tasty; they are crispy, regardless of the size.

alt

Remember, friends, I told you about broccoli: after harvesting, new shoots will grow on the stalk, and you need to remove them on time. These are the last fresh broccoli. And another bonus is the last bean. Yes, everything is the latest this year.

alt

My wife wanted to remove all the tomatoes from the greenhouse 2 weeks ago, but I did not allow her to do so. The temperature in the greenhouse is still quite comfortable and the tomatoes continue to ripen. Especially a lot of cherry. I've noticed for a long time that they start to grow strongly at the end of summer.

alt

And there is a special feature of these tomatoes - the stepsons grow very much, which must be removed because they interfere with the ripening of the fruits. For some reason, cherry doesn't have many of them in the summer, but by the end of the season they appear very quickly.

alt

Yes, I still have raspberries growing! I didn't put it together today; I'll do it tomorrow. By the way, strawberries are also ripening.
These are remontant varieties. The berries last until winter. Two weeks ago, I gave the berries to the neighborhood kids.

My assistant. I picked the last beetroot, and Nora decided to help me wash it.

alt

Теперь осталась расти на грядках только капуста. Мы её не будем убирать до самых морозов. Это поздний сорт. Раннюю капусту мы ели еще в июле.

The day is already short. At 5 p.m., it's already dark outside. And it's dark at 5 a.m. too... Winter is coming...

alt

Oh yes, today is also Caturday. This is another one of my assistants, my Hinata.
