Hello, my friends.
A week ago, my nephew and I made a small trip along the Vyatka River.
We planned to make this fishing trip back in June, but various obstacles did not allow us to make this rafting on the river.
And so, we left the house a little later than expected. About 80 km of the trip by car and we are at the river, at the place of launching the boat.
We planned to climb up the river for another 50 kilometers, but already during the ride up the river we realized that we would not have time to do it before dark. Therefore, we swam about 30 km and started looking for a place to stay for the night, so that in the morning we could think about continuing the trip up the river.
We are starting.
My nephew really likes to take selfies. He is an Instagram person. Therefore, he takes a control photo before starting the boat ride.
But our third companion at first did not want to get into the history of this trip. But later he became our central character. But about this story will go a little further.
My nephew recently bought a new boat, but the engine remained the same. It turned out that the boat is hard to get on the glide under our load, we need to put the engine more. This turned out to be the main problem for overcoming the planned distance. Our speed was no more than 28 km/h.
Behind us, the sun was going down, and ahead of us was a quiet and calm river. There was no wind at all. There was a complete calm. Nature was preparing for the night.
On all the sandy beaches that we came across along the way there were tents and awnings, bonfires were burning, music was playing somewhere, people were going to bed somewhere.
We began to think about a place to stay for the night. We were going to stop at some beach. We even went to one of the beaches, but it turned out to be damp, very uncomfortable for the night. We managed to find a very cool place. There was even a table with benches and there was a bonfire.
We quickly boiled water in the dark, drank tea, had dinner and went to bed. Friends, did you believe me? We didn't actually make our own tea. we just sat by the fire, drank a liter of Bacardi rum and fell asleep.
Morning! I'm used to waking up early. My nephew was asleep, I gathered wood, organized a fire, boiled water. Our dog Boy helped me with this.
I will say right away - we did not leave any garbage behind. We collected everything in a package. While we continued our little trip up the river, the dog remained at the base, and the garbage bag hung on a tree.
While my nephew was sleeping, people were already fishing not far from us. But, apparently, the fish did not want to bite and they swam down the river.
The sun was already high in the sky. I managed to wake up my nephew. He swam a little in the river, the dog Boy also swam with him, we had breakfast and continued our journey.
After climbing up the river for a few more kilometers, we realized that there was no point in swimming further. The fish refused to bite, and there were many fishermen and vacationers ahead.
Back at the base, we drank coffee, took the dog in the boat and began our leisurely rafting down the river and fishing.
Yes, we had a few moments up the river from the base, I even held a pike, but we were not able to get it into the boat.
Now, after swimming literally 200 meters, the nephew managed to catch a pike weighing more than 3 kg. He was very happy about it. And I'm also glad that he was happy. Now we will be able to cook fish soup in the evening, we will not be hungry.
We caught some more medium-sized perch, just what we needed for the fish soup.
We landed the dog on the shore after a while, but the Boy wanted to join us in the boat again. He began to swim from the shore to the boat and back. He swam around the boat, he asked to get back into our boat. It was funny and I felt sorry for the dog. Of course, we then put him in the boat.
In the late afternoon, we started looking for a parking place.
We chose a sandy dry beach. I went with the dog to the forest in search of firewood, my nephew was cleaning fish.
It was decided to cook fish soup and bake fish with carrots, potatoes and onions in foil on coals.
The fish soup was delicious. That yes.
But the baked pike was even tastier. So I didn't take the foil in vain. The nephew said that he had never eaten such delicious food before, now he will always take the foil on a hike.
We decided not to put up a tent. It was warm. But I was confused by the clouds that appeared in the sky.
And it was not just like that. Around 23:00, the rain began to drip. We had to urgently put up a tent in complete darkness. But we still had a flashlight.
I thought that in the morning we would have to get to the car in the rain. But at three o'clock it stopped raining.
At 4 o'clock I left the tent, gathered wood, built a fire and boiled water for coffee.
Well, then.
To wake up my nephew, I have already started to assemble a tent, drink coffee, fill a thermos with tea and go forward, or rather back.
One more day of fishing is waiting for us.
We went fishing for 4 hours, met a lot of fishermen on boats and on the shore, but we never saw the fish. We saw that other fishermen did not achieve the result either. The fish refused to take the bait. It was decided that we should go home.
When we arrived at the parking lot of the car, we saw that many people were already leaving for home. Everyone was talking about the lack of biting.
I wasn't upset that we didn't have any fish. We had a great time. almost 3 days on the river! This is a great luxury for me. We caught a beautiful fish, we cooked a wonderful dinner that you can't buy in a restaurant.
July is a very difficult time for fishing. The water is very warm and predatory fish does not want to eat.
I think that in the middle of August we will make one more such trip. But I plan to go further up the river by car, there will be fewer fishermen, there will be less competition.
